Birth Day Photos

I know these photos are like 2 weeks late, but they're here now. These are the photos from Kellen's birthday.

When Kellen first came down stairs all he wanted to do was play with his balloons, for about 15 minutes that's all he wanted to do. But I guess that's why I got them, because he loves them. He was really excited to see all these balloons for him to play with.

We finally got him interested in his presents, and he did a great job of ripping them open, a lot better then his first birthday and even better then Christmas.  He still needed help though.

And by mistake, I gave him the wrong present first, and all he wanted to do was play with the cars he got. Kellen loves cars right now, and wants to play with them all day long, inside and outside. It took us anther 15 minutes to get him interested in another present.

Kellen also got this alphabet magnet set, I am sure you all know what it is. Kellen has been wanting to play with the Magnets on the fridge for a while so he really like this one also. It took him a while to figure it out, but now he goes over to it and press the button that sings the alphabet song and he starts dancing. Dancing is new for him, he's never been a dancer, but loves it now.
Other presences that Kellen got, but we forgot to take pictures of were, Legos from Grandpa, and Grandma Potter, Bean Bags that I made for him, 3 new Dr. Seuss Books,  and a Sponge Bob DVD. So yeah he was spoiled, but I thought it would be ok, It's not like he has a ton of toys.

I didn't make a cake for Kellen this year, because I really wanted to get him one of these Cup Cakes. There is a little store here that sells just cup cakes. Kellen chose the one at the bottom left corner, Lemon pie.  Preston and I shared a Lemon blueberry. I am telling you these cup cakes are amazing.

Kellen did a much better job of not getting it all over the place. I felt kid of bad for letting him eat the whole thing (in 3 minutes) because I am sure he had a tummy ace. All in all it was such a wonderful day, and I can't believe that my little boy is 2. I love him so much, and I am the luckiest mommy in the world.

My two Cents

I hate to debate politics, always have, always will. But I will say this, know your facts. It is so easy to just get online and look at the facts. And it is so easy to just listen to what we are told, or what commercials have to say. Because lets be honest a commercial would never lie. By the time elections roll around we all should be experts, and know everything there is to know about McCain and Obama. And just because your "for McCain" doesn't mean you don't have to do your homework for Obama. And just because your "for Obama" doesn't mean you don't need to research McCain.

Computer trouble

We have been having some computer problems lately, so Preston took the Lap Top up to campus to the mac store to see what the trouble was. Well... we are still not entirely sure what the problem is, other then we bought a broken mac. They had to whip the Hard drive and back up all of our stuff. And some how, when they put all our I-Photo stuff back on to our computer we ended up with 5000 photos!!! evidently all the photos that we burned on to CD's and deleted off the computer, weren't deleted "the right way". They just weren't in I-photo, or in the trash, or any where really, they were just some where... some where deep and hidden. So all those birthday photos I took will have to wait, they are some where mixed in with the other photos, and it's kind of a mess. But I will find them... eventually.

So I am going to take this moment, while I have 5000 photos on my computer and reminisce, about nothing. This should be interesting. and if your wondering, no I do not have specific photos or stories in mind that I already have planed on sharing.
This photo was taken on September 14th 2006. How do I know the exact date you ask, because the very next day Kellen was born. I was HUGE!!! People would always ask me it I was having twins, Oh how I wanted to cry. But I can truly say "I loved being pregnant" and just to give you a size comparison... that is Preston's shirt I am wearing.

This is Kellen's first moment here on earth, Preston was so wonderful to take so many photos right after he was born.

The brand new Daddy. I told my nurse to take a picture for me, and I am so glad I did. This is one of my favorite photos of Preston and Kellen.

I think Kellen is about 3 months old here. Just look at that darling face, I just want to kiss him all over he is so dang cute. This is one of my favorite outfits that Kellen had, complements of my Mom.

I have no idea how old Kellen is here, but I do know this was taken in AZ the day of Karen's wedding. So Karen, when was your wedding again? I am so lame, I know.

And this is Kellen's first Birthday mess. Not a single bite made it into his mouth, all he did was play with it. after he was done we scooped some of it off the try and put it into his mouth, he really like it but was still not sure how to get it into his mouth by himself. And to think Kellen is now 2.

Happy Birth Day Kellen #2

He was not like this all day, thank goodness, but the fact that he had to stop moving for 5 seconds was absolutely devastating to him. Despite the tantrum photo shoot, it was a spectacular day. I think I was more excited about his birth day then he was, at least until he opened a few presents. More photos to come later.

In loving Memory...

11 years ago today my brother Michael, and my sister Sandi died in a tragic car accident. A truck driver hit my sisters Van from behind, killing them both almost instantly. I by the tender mercy of the Lord, was some how saved, either by being thrown from the car to safety, or by the help of Angles them selves. (I don't remember the accident so I couldn't tell you)
I know the photo isn't a very good one, but it was all that I had. The memories that I have of them seem almost like a dream now, but a good dream at that. They were such an example to me of what a Christ like life should be. I love them dearly and I am proud to call them my family. I am proud to tell people all about them, and I proud that they have graduated from this life to the next. I am who I am today because of them. Overcoming this tragedy was hard but, not imposable.
I love you Sandi and Michael, and "I miss you like the Sun misses the flower".

My life revolves around Kellen

These are just some random photos that we have taken over the past week. I thought I would share them with you so you can see just how cute my little mess make is (aka Kellen "the rock" Lindsay).

Kellen and I are watching Sponge Bob together. To me Sponge Bob is little better then Barney, it's all senseless, meaningless, mumbo jumbo. But Kellen seems to like it A LOT, so I just endure and love on my Kellen.

Just look at that darling little boy and that cute little tushie! Oh it just doesn't get much better then that. Some day Kellen is going to hate me for showing you guys these photos. And why are bath time photos so much fun?

And yes that is a stick in his hand.

I love you Kellen!

This kid is a stud, and honestly did anyone expected something different, I mean after all he is mine

My big swimmer

I have been trying to upload this video for weeks, and it just wouldn't work, and then just now it decides that it will. What's that all about? Any way, this is a short video of Kellen swimming all on his own for the first time. Which is really a big deal to me. He has been nearly terrified of the water since his fall, so at this point he was just getting over that. He completely over his fear now, thank goodness.
This was during our trip to Sacramento.

Mommy Tip of the Month

I have nothing else to blog about other then cold weather, wind and rain, and no one ever wants to hear about that. So instead of boring you to death about the weather, I decided to share with you some information about your power company,  & save you a few bucks.
Most power companies have a program call "On Peak--Off Peak". Just like your cell phone. For example... "On Peak" hour are from 8am--11pm (based on seasons & location) and we pay $0.10 a kwl. "Off Peak" hours are from 11pm-8am M-F,weekends & Holidays, and we pay only $.04 a kwl. It my sound like ridiculous hours, but what about that heater/AC the runs all night long, what if you started the dishwasher right before you went to bed, or first thing in the morning. Or tried to do most of the laundry on the weekend. And what about Holidays when the family comes to visit, you would be paying only a fraction of what you normally pay. Since we have switched to "On Peak--Off Peak" we have cut our Power Bill by more then half. And we haven't had to make dramatic changes in the way we do things.
Just thought everyone should know, you don't have to pay as much for energy as you think. But do keep in mind every city, state, and company does it differently, so be sure to ask a lot a questions when you call. You don't want your "On Peak" hour rate to be higher then the norm.
Good Luck.
